Why we choose to do our beginning weekend courses in two weekends instead of just only one

At Aquatech Scuba Center, we are committed to providing the highest quality of training we can offer to our students. That is why resorts all over the world gives our divers a seal of approval. With that in mind, Aquatech does not believe in doing the complete pool and classroom for a beginning divers course in just two days ( Sat. & Sun) . The student cannot absorb that much information and retain it for future use. When dealing with your children in class,we treat them as our own. When classes are done in a two day span, we call this a barrier to learning. We have certified many children and know that given too much information and long class hours is not the best learning experience. They lose their attention span as well as becoming hungry before class time is over. At Aquatech, that is why we do our pool and classroom over two weekends instead of one, like some instructors out there. We want every diver we certify to learn the valuable skills they need to be a safe and comfortable diver.

With the classroom and pool sessions done over two weekends, The students learn the important survival skills it takes to be a good diver, it is impossible to learn these in just one weekend.

The Final Open Water Dives

At Aquatech, we start our open water check out dives when the water temperature reaches the mid to upper 70's. Usually around the month of May.One of the reasons for this is that doing underwater mask removal can be dangerous for the student in cold water. When cold water hits the students face it can disrupt the breathing cycle making it very difficult to breathe. So if you hear about an instructor taking any students, especially children to open water checkout dives before May, ask yourself is this in the best interest for the student's health and welfare. Aquatech, it is all about making sure that every student has a great and SAFE learning experience.
